The House of Wisdom (HoW) is a dynamic discovery center and intellectual playground located in the heart of Islamabad. Inspired by the spirit of Baghdad’s legendary Bayt al-Hikmah, we are not a conventional museum. We are an interactive space designed to take learners on a journey through time, exploring the greatest ideas and events that have shaped our world.
Our unique approach connects science, mathematics, history, art, and philosophy into a single, unfolding narrative. We believe that understanding why the Gregorian calendar was changed is as important as understanding how it works, and that the beautiful patterns on a Chladni plate can inspire a love for physics in a way a textbook cannot. We counter the “post-truth” era by grounding our exhibits in verified facts, historical context, and the joy of empirical discovery.
